The story

Greek sailors founded Nice more than two thousand years ago and called it Nikaia. Now a mischievous wind has blown the adventures of Odysseus all over the old town. Rescue them stop by stop, answer one question at each, and win the letters of a secret word. The route follows the classic sightseeing walk through Nice, from Place Masséna along the sea to the old town and Castle Hill, so you can play while you explore the city. Made for children aged 6 to 12 and the grown-ups who walk with them.

Frequently asked questions

How does the game work?

You walk from stop to stop in Nice with your phone. At every stop you hear or read a short story, look around, and answer one question by tapping a big button. Each right answer wins a letter, and together the letters spell a secret word that opens the last story.

What ages is it for?

The questions are written for children aged about 6 to 12. Younger children can play along with a grown-up, and every stop has a fact for the adults too.

How long does it take?

1.5 to 2 hours at a relaxed pace, with time to look around. The route is just over a mile (1.8 km). You can stop for ice cream or a rest, because the game waits for you.

What do I need to play?

A smartphone with internet to start the game, comfortable shoes, and headphones or the phone speaker for the stories. Before you set off, tap "Download for offline" at the bottom of the game page: then the game, its recordings and the route map work without a signal.

How does the code work?

Buy once from our online store (an outside seller handles the payment and emails you a code). Enter the code on the game page to open the game. One purchase covers your family, up to the number of activations set in the store.

Do I have to book a time or meet anyone?

No. There is no guide and no fixed start. You play whenever you like, on your own.

What if it rains or a child gets tired?

Open the game again whenever you are ready; it remembers where you stopped. The route is short walks between the stops, with places to sit along the way.
